Getting Around Annapolis

Annapolis, Maryland has a public transportation system that is quite good. Visitors can use the area's buses, light rail lines, and subway lines to get around town safely and efficiently.

Here is some general information about Annapolis's bus system.
Annapolis has a total of 13 bus routes that serve residents every day.
Two of them are express routes that run through the area's downtown area. Buses that travel along these routes also go to the State Capitol Building, the City Dock, and to the airport.
The other routes are color-coded. For example, the Blue Line (also known as C-60), travels from downtown Annapolis towards the airport along US Road #50.

Annapolis has three major transfer points that visitors can use as landmarks to keep track of where they are going.
Buses go around town using the Spa Road Transfer Point, the State Capital, and the City Dock as a major transfer points. Passengers can use these transfer points to walk a few block to several hotels and area attractions.

Annapolis's buses generally run from about 5:30 AM-7:00 PM during the week and from 6:00 AM- 7:00 PM.
The only exceptions to this rule are C-40 and C-60. These routes run during odd hours from 7 AM-7 PM on the weekends.

Furthermore, passengers may pay their fares while they board the bus.
Transfers are free and good for the day one's fare was paid.

Here are a few things to remember about Annapolis's MTA light rail lines and subway services...
The MTA light rail and subway trains make stops at the Patapsco Light Rail stop, Falls Road Station and the Mount Washington Station. These three stops help Annapolis residents travel to Baltimore, Washington, DC and Cromwell.

Annapolis passengers may take the Blue Line up to either one of these stations to board the subway or a train.

Passengers can purchase fare tickets at kiosks located at each stop. Passengers may also purchase tickets online.

Finally, most trains and subways provide service from about 6 AM-9 PM every day.
As a result, visitors can use the light rail and subway services to travel to Baltimore or Washington, DC as much as they'd like.
